What educators are saying

Fantastic resource. Our book is not the greatest for this topic. Very informative and kids were engaged

Description

These are original questions and a link to an article from Urban Child Institute. It is a great comprehensive article that first reviews neuron cell structure and function, and secondly introduces infant and toddler brain development. I have my students do this assignment first to practice reading comprehension skills and to set up what we will be talking about that day. Most of them are lost when we talk about neurons, neurotransmitters, and synapses, and this gives them a firm foundation beforehand which is really helpful. I usually upload to google classroom, and have students find the article themselves. This way the article can be read aloud through the computer as a modification for IEP students. You could also print it for them.
