Industrial Revolution: Shark Tank Project!
- Google Drive™ folder
Description
This is an amazing resources to use for the Industrial Revolution that encourages high engagement, critical thinking, creativity, and challenges students to get out of their comfort zone. This loosely connects to the hit TV show "Shark Tank". Students will pretend they have created an invention from the Industrial Revolution (or they could create their own unique invention) where they create a visual aid/prototype, advertisement, and give a sales pitch presentation similar to how they do on Shark Tank! This resources is editable and includes:
--Project Description page
--Grading Rubric page
--Visual Aid/Prototype Requirements page
--Advertisements page
--Sales Pitch/Speech Requirements page
--Sales Pitch/Speech draft and final page
--Research Organizer page
--Project Self/Group Reflection page
--Examples of student work page
--Questions for classmates "sharks" to ask during presentations page
This project takes approximately 2-3 school weeks (90 minute blocks) but timing is fully dependent on the class. Below is pacing that worked best for me:
- 1 block for research
- 4 blocks for building visual aid/prototype
- 2 blocks for advertisement
- 2 blocks for sales pitch
- 1 block for presentations
