Description
Create unique no-prep Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day cards from around the world! Includes three hand drawn Indian henna designs that you may 1) color in (printables included), or 2) create from scratch using guided drawing tutorials (click preview to see actual student samples). Finished flat cards are 5.5”x8.5”, but larger formats 8.5”x11” also included.
The henna designs provided are authentic henna/mehndi designs. The drawing tutorials are a great way to instill mindfulness while learning about the art of another culture.
This product provides the following, all as Adobe files:
- A short lesson mehndi and henna designs on hands - this is a slideshow format that you can read from your computer as you show images to students on Promethean board (no printing necessary)
- A cute take-home booklet printable of the lesson is also included
- Color-in mehendi designs (3) that students can color in, OR
- DIY Drawing Tutorials of 3 mehendi designs, including:
- A printable of a basic heart to use as a starting point
- Step-by-step art project instructions for making henna hearts flat card - DESIGN 1

Other than cutting paper into half (printables and card stock), there is NO PREP.

Materials needed to make one flat card measuring 8.5" x 5.5" include 1/2 a sheet of standard size white card stock, 1/2 a sheet of brightly colored card stock for backing, an assortment of colored markers (Sharpies look best; try to include black for the directed-drawing of the designs), graphite pencils (optional for directed-drawing), a glue stick, and scissors. Additionally, if you would like this to be a wall hanging, you will need 1/2 a pipe cleaner and a hole punch.
If you would like to make larger wall hangings (8.5" x 11" each), large printables are provided as well.
