Description
Need something to fill in time between units or at the end of the year? Try this independent reading project unit to keep kids engaged and interacting with books they care about. This unit should keep your kids busy (in a GOOD way) for at least four weeks!
This project saved me with second semester seniors. Any of your students complaining of "senioritis", the world's most made-up and incurable illness? Maybe you don’t teach seniors, but need an independent reading project to round up some squirrly, bored teenagers? Here is a ready-to-print, editable, Google Classroom ready independent reading project for your students to try! My twist was "The Last Book I'll Read in High School" but your twist could easily be "The Last Book of the Year" or "The Only Book that Matters in High School".
In this project, students complete creative projects, participate in two socratic seminars, follow a reading calendar, analyze important symbols in their texts, write a review, design a tattoo and so much more.
