What educators are saying

I'm not sure how much my students appreciate these posters, but I love them. They're a great addition to the walls during my Canterbury Tales unit.

Description

A .pdf (almost 80 megs) of six stunning color illustrations from a 1905 edition of the Canterbury Tales; title page of the edition is the first image of the .pdf. The text is modernized by Percy MacKaye; the illustrations are by Walter Appleton Clark.

The stories illustrated and captions included are:

1. General Prologue: "Forth we rode when day began to spring."
2. The Knight's Tale: "Palamon desireth to slay his foe Arcite."
3. Description of the Miller from the GP: "Therewith he brought us out of Town."
4. The Pardoner's Tale: "The three Rogues search in the woods for Death."
5. Description of the Friar from the GP: "So much of Dalliance and fair Speech."
6. The Squire's Tale: "There came a Knight upon a Steed of Brass."

Each illustration is also available individually. The preview images cross pages (which is why they look a bit off).
