Description
Students learn a lot about life on the Oregon Trail by reading the Scholastic book, “If You Traveled West in a Covered Wagon” by Ellen Levine. This is a simple and effective comprehension packet that is differentiated to add page numbers for students who need extra help and better yet, students may not notice the difference! Answer keys are provided.
The comprehension packet breaks the 80-page book down into 5 parts with a worksheet to accompany each section so the book becomes manageable when checking comprehension.
DIGITAL FORMAT INCLUDED! Two digital versions of the packet are included and have shaded text boxes ready for students to type answers. One version has page numbers for students who need that assistance and the other does not. The digital versions are in PowerPoint format and you will upload it to your Google Drive.
For fast finishers, there are 3 extra pages you can print and include in the back of the packet for enrichment. There is a sketch paper for students to draw a sketch of themselves next to a wagon, an Oregon Trail word search puzzle, and a page that asks students to alphabetize the list of words from the word search.
The book is reading level 3 and is not included in the purchase.
Enjoy this simple yet effective comprehension packet for the book, If You Traveled West in a Covered Wagon.
