Do you need an easy way to teach the difference between literal and figurative language? Using these easily understood idiom cards, Bingo game, and Boom activities (in full-color photos) will make it so much easier!

This HUGE unit contains the following products:
- Definition cards for matching (38 cards).
- A datasheet and answer key pgs 44-47.
- Three worksheets; Make a sentence pg 61, multiple choice pg 62, and correct usage pg 63.
- Application of idioms worksheet for a cut and paste activity with paraphrasing the meaning. The pictures can be cut out and glued in the blanks and then the meaning of the idiom can be described in written format by the student pg 43.
- Slides 38 and 39 are two idioms that are used to determine if the students have prior knowledge of the meaning. They are “once in a blue moon” and “don’t cry over spilled milk.”
- Boom card link for extra work or for homework in a fun, digital format
- Bingo game with 30 literal and 30 figurative Bingo cards and 24 definition cards and 24 context clue cards for extra fun!
- Organization: storage cards are included after you cut them out and laminate them for easy organization pgs 41 and 42.
This unit can be used in many different ways including;
Vocabulary cards- (74 beautiful, real picture cards total) The cards can be printed as is or cut out and used as a matching game. Print the cards on card stock and laminate. Cut them out and mix them up. Place them face down on the table or put one card face down on each student's desk. Have the students work to find who has the match to their card (the thought of version to the correct version first, then the definition to the correct card).
