Description

This package includes everything you need to teach students about how to create a dance based on identity! Each lesson includes detailed descriptions on how to lead each lesson and activity, so it is even great for sub plans! It can also be easily adapted to suit many different grade levels. These lesson plans are not formatted into formal lesson plans so there are no curriculum standards or rubrics attached, but it does align with the Arts Ed curriculum in Saskatchewan, Canada.

This bundle will walk you and your students through everything from miming, to transferring miming movements into dance movements and more! Students will explore identity in this mini-unit by learning about and utilizing the dance composition element of space.

These lessons allow students to try creating movements and sequences on their own, with a partner, and in small groups. It includes links to videos that will assist in understanding the element of shape,as well as peer evaluation forms and observation forms for when students are watching their classmates perform. This fits perfectly with the grade 6 Arts Education Curriculum (Outcomes CP 6.1 and CR 6.3) Please note there is no rubric attached as it is suggested that you co-create one with your students.
