What educators are saying

My students loved these task cards as a center as a review for their quiz. This is a great ready made resource that is ready to go. Also, it was engaging in pod work. Fantastic purchase.

Description

Included in this set are 26 task cards on identifying ordered pairs, a student recording sheet, and an answer key. These cards are all short answer questions. Students are given a graph and need to identify 4 ordered pairs that are plotted on the graph. There are 4 cards that have points located in the first quadrant, 4 with points in the 2nd, 4 with points in the 3rd, 4 with points in the 4th quadrant, and 2 cards that have points on a plane coordinate grid. To expand on this activity students could also be asked to identify the range and domain for each card.

There are multiple ways to use task cards in the classroom. Students could be paired up, or could work along. When students work in pairs, I often have students work together to solve each of the problems. After a certain amount of time (2-3minutes) each group passes their cards to the next group. When I have students work on task cards by themselves, I pass out the task cards, then set a timer so that every 2minutes students pass their cards. This activity could also be used with the game “speed math.” Instructions for this game are available as a free download in the 4 the Love of Math store!

There are 2 versions of the cards included in this set. One is color, one has a black and white border (to save ink).

*Note: The numbers on the grid are not on the lines (putting them there made impossible to read). I advise students to count the grid lines to ensure they write down the correct coordinates!) Check out the free preview file if you would like to see how it looks!

******These cards are a part of my algebra task card bundle which can be found here: Task Card Bundle
