Identifying Fractions (Pictorial, improper and mixed fractions)

This lesson introduces how to identify fractions pictorially when giving an improper fraction and a mixed fraction. It builds into applying their understanding on to number lines. They have to show they know how to identify the denominator and numerator on the number line. Then there are reasoning based questions which will stretch the children's understanding of wholes, mixed fractions and improper fractions.

This lesson is designed for children in Year 5 and all the answers are included.
