Identify Minerals Science Lab

Allow your students to become "Mineral Detectives" as they work together to figure out which mystery minerals they are being given. Students can work in pairs or teams to use the properties of minerals (hardness, color, luster, and streak) to investigate which ones they have! This lab is a great way to spice up your Rocks and Minerals science unit.

This lab allows students to practice with deductive reasoning, hypothesizing, investigation, predictions, teamwork/collaboration, analyzing evidence, practice with the correct use of scientific tools, communication, and formulation of explanations.
