Description

Individualized Math Instruction * Differentiation that Works

Choice Menus allow students to assume ownership.

Students use the personalized recommendations in IXL to help them improve their mathematical skills. Students start with number 5 which asks them to work 10 math questions in the diagnostic arena. After they may choose an activity on the board. Once they have completed 3 activities in a tic-tac-toe line, they turn the card in. The large form with the choices students keep in their notebooks. The small tic-tac-toe boards are the cards they turn in for credit. Teachers may elect to display a set of tic-tac-toe cards and let students mark their boards. They race to complete tic-tac-toe first.

Students complete these activities during math remediation, small group instructions or center rotations. Early finishers may elect an activity.

Please, note I am not affiliated with IXL. This is how I've implemented IXL in my classroom. I have elected to implement the program.
