This seven slide smart notebook file goes from a basic introduction and investigation of the information on the periodic table to identifying the mystery element by navigating your way through the table, adding, subtracting and dividing atomic numbers, numbers of protons, group numbers, valence, electrons, etc. Introductory activities also include breaking down boxes on the periodic table to identify subatomic particles and another which asks students to identify diagrams of atoms.
