Description

Looking for a simple way to connect with your students? Kids are 100% more likely to learn from someone who shows they care about them! "I Wish My Teacher Knew" is the perfect tool to create a classroom environment. Students can communicate their thoughts, feelings, and interests with their teacher through writing or drawing pictures. This product includes 4 styles of notes that you can share with your students and labels for a collection box.

"My 3rd graders love to tell me everything about their lives, so having this resource gave them the chance to tell me anything they wanted, without taking away teaching time. It’s PERFECT!" -Rebecca

"I have learned so much about my students. All of their joyful moments and even the hardships they could be facing. We forget that what ever situation they are going through affects their learning so much. I love this resource I can't wait to continue using it throughout my teaching career." -Joanna

How I Use This Product In My Classroom:

PREPPING:

1. I use the labels (Pages 4-6) and glued one onto a colored container.

You can use anything! An envelope, a box, whatever you want!

2. I print the “I wish my teacher knew” pages on colored paper and set them

next to the container.

INTRODUCING TO STUDENTS:

1. I tell the students this is a way they can draw a picture or write a note to me it can be ANYTHING! Some examples I’ve had from students: I have a soccer game on Saturday, I liked what we did in math today (or I didn’t like it.), my grandpa died and I went to his funeral, I am scared to raise my hand, etc.

2. There is a spot for their name, students can choose if they would like to write their name (I strongly suggest that they do so I know where it is coming from!)

3. Teachers have the option to write back using the, “I wish my student knew” cards. This has been a great way for me to get to know my students! You are going to LOVE it!
