What educators are saying

My students loved this resource! It was very engaging and the students didn't even realize they were working :)
This is exactly what I was looking for. I used this with an intervention group for my on grade level third graders.

Description

I Survived the Shark Attacks of 1916

by Lauren Tarshis

This novel study was created for my 5th grade ELA classes, most of whom are low readers and need worksheets and questions that are not busy, less wordy, and have extra supports to find the answers in the text. I have been having trouble finding this and started creating my own resources to better meet the needs of my students.

It is a worksheet page for each chapter in the book. If your students can handle being given a packet, you could print it as an entire packet. I generally assign 1 chapter to read for homework a night and send one page to hold them accountable for reading.

Each chapter has a section with comprehension questions, and then other various activities covering many skills. There are examples and help throughout so that students are able to do the activities correctly without help from the teacher.

That’s 15 worksheets, plus answer keys.

I hope that this resource helps some other class!

Sincerely, Mrs. Buckeye Nut
