Description
Need an engaging way to work on phonics skills with your students? Make it a game! I Spy Sounds will help you reinforce letter sounds in whole group, guided groups or independent practice.
I have included a slideshow that you can use as a game. To use, say, "I spy something that begins with the sound /s/." Students can say which word begins with that sound on the slide. Repeat for each image on the slide.
The activity mats are used with letter manipulatives (magnetic, wood, etc.) Students place the letter that matches the beginning sound on the image.
The Write-the-Room activity has students find 6 images placed around the classroom. Students find the cards, then write the beginning sound on the recording page.
What is included:
→ I Spy slideshow for PowerPoint and Google Slides (link to get a copy of the Google Slides version is linked on the first page of the PDF file). 3 sets of slides that go through letters A-Z.
→ I Spy activity mats: 3 sets of mats that go through letters A-Z.
→ I Spy write-the-room activity: 4 sets of 6 cards with 1 image on each. Recording page included for students to write the beginning sounds on. (Please note- letters X and Q not included in this activity)
