What educators are saying

My students loved doing this activity, they had a better understanding of the hunter/gatherers life.
So much fun!! My students loved making their shelters and then running around the room to hunt and gather. Tomorrow we will debrief with the questions and see who survived ! Great activity.

Description

This exciting simulation activity provides students the opportunity to pretend that they are a hunter-gather! With limited resources they must build a successful shelter. Then they must go on five hunting trips for food. They might find berries, nuts, a gazelle, a mammoth, or they may get the “injured” card while hunting. This extremely engaging lesson is sure to engage students into the lifestyle of being a hunter-gatherer and students will love the activity. This lesson comes with a Directions PowerPoint, Printable Food Slips for gathering, a Printable Gathering Log, and a complete Lesson Plan that explains how to run the lesson in your own classroom. Students will learn and they will love this meaningful and memorable lesson.

The original files for this assignment are in Microsoft Word format. I have updated this product to also include links for Google Docs to provide the ability to use this lesson with either format.
