How to Use Commas

Teach students about commas with these easy-to-use Google Slides presentations! The presentations look at the conventions of comma use in series, with adjectives, following introductory elements, and with essential and non-essential sentence elements.

The presentations have check questions placed throughout to monitor comprehension and ensure student engagement. Answers are provided in the presenter notes beneath the slides containing the questions.

Included:

101 slides including 22 (Pear Deck enabled) comprehension-check questions.

Please note: If you do not use Pear Deck, you can easily delete the notation on the slides. Alternative approaches for the interactive content include giving each student (or group) a mini whiteboard to hold up with answers to the questions, asking students (individually or in groups) to answer the questions in a notebook, or volunteers to answers on the board.
