Description

If your students love graphic novels (and really, who doesn't?) this mini-unit is the perfect way to ensure that students are successful when reading these texts!

With this unit students will learn:

  • to infer and create a story using the pictures in a graphic novel
  • the parts of a graphic novel
  • how to appropriately move through text and graphics on a graphic novel page

This product includes:

  • a 3 day instructional plan
  • student pages
  • anchor chart (color and black and white versions)
  • sample graphic novel pages (color and black and white versions)
  • answer key

Tips for use:

  • pair with ANY graphic novel
  • use the student pages and anchor charts in students' readers notebooks so that students can refer to them again and again
