What educators are saying

This resource was awesome for creating our sketches before we painted our landscapes. This helps so much with our lighting and shadows and serves as a guide in their sketchbooks. Wonderful practice sheets as well!

Description

As a drawing teacher for years, I've found that these six worksheets are at the core of what all students must know to tackle landscape drawing. They are always introduced to my own art students at the beginning of any landscape drawing unit and these techniques and terminology follow them throughout the unit. Take it from a seasoned drawing teacher...these six worksheets are essential and game-changing. These would work well for all students from upper elementary through high school and beyond. Your students will learn to draw basic landscape elements such as tress, rocks, clouds, grass, and mountains. They will also learn how to draw 18 unique landscape compositions which are all constructed with a minimum number of lines. There are two line-only worksheets, and two corresponding shaded worksheets which are dedicated to considering the direction of the light source and shadows. A blank sheet (empty boxes) is also provided for the students to copy these examples and/or explore creating their own landscape compositions utilizing the foreground, middle ground, and background concept seen here. I trust your students will find these as beneficial and enlightening as mine do.

Enjoy! (Bo, The Art Guru)
