Description

Use these strategies to support struggling readers without wasting the time of grade level or advanced readers. They can be used for whole group or small group instruction.

They can be used with any textbook or website. Ideas for differentiating are included.

These are strategies that I used in my own secondary science classroom for more than 20 years. I know they work. I’ve seen them work in my own classroom and also in the classrooms of my colleagues in middle school and high school.

They are simple to implement and are low prep. I give you a thorough explanation of why they work as well as how to use them.

I also have included some blank templates for some of the graphic organizers I suggest.
