What educators are saying

My students absolutely LOVED this for opinion writing. We had been working on opinion writing for a few weeks and we used this as a choice option for their final. I'm excited to use the procedural ones next! Thank you!

    Description

These opinion writing crafts and how to writing crafts are perfect for writing lessons and writing centers! These 11 fun craftivities (writing prompts) are for procedural (procedure) writing and opinion writing.

The following flip books are featured:

    How to Make a Pizza

    How to Make Popcorn

    How to Make a Burger

    How to Make a Sundae

    How to Make Cookies

    6 Opinion Writing Crafts

The art/crafts are flip books. Students complete 5 easy steps to make each craft (write, cut, color, cut, and glue). Written and visual instructions are included for your students. There are planning pages for each 'how to' craft. Students can plan their procedure (you can choose your preferred planning page – they differ in lines/layout).

The writing pages have two types of lines (dotted or plain) to choose from. These activities are therefore suitable for students from Kindergarten through to 3rd grade.

They are great for literacy lessons, if you want a creative/art element, and excellent for wall displays/bulletin boards. If your students are proficient writers, simply print extra writing pages. Students can glue as many as they want underneath the pictures if they would like to write more.

When/how to use these how to crafts:

    • Whole group writing lesson
    • Literacy/writing centers or writer's workshop
    • Independent writing practice
    • Early finishers
    • Morning work
    • Bulletin board/door decor
    • Assessment for your 'how to' or 'opinion' writing unit
