What educators are saying

I appreciated how students were asked to create data tables and incorporate math skills into this easy (and inexpensive) lab.
My students loved this lab! They loved the idea of chewing gum in class. The results blew their mind as well.

Description

In this Activity, students practice measuring the mass of bubble gum before and after its chewed, then make some calculations to determine the percentage of sugar in the gum- definitely a crowd pleaser!

This activity is great for everyone- students get to chew gum and teachers get students to practice measuring mass, and calculating averages and percents!

I think real BUBBLE GUM like double bubble works best for this!
