Description
Thanksgiving is a uniquely American holiday. What are some holidays and festivals only celebrated in the Spanish-speaking world? This differentiated activity allows students to view engaging pictures of 6 different holidays and choose two to research. Each picture comes with a short video either showing imagery of the celebration or describing it. Students are then asked to summarize what they have learned. This comes with a version with videos and questions in Spanish and one with video and questions in English.
Festivals and holidays include:
- Los Sanfermines (Running of the Bulls)
- La Feria Sevillana
- La Tomatina
- Las Barilletas Gigantes de Guatemala
- Carnaval dominicana
- El Día de los Reyes Magos
Note: This activity was created to be completed in Google Docs and students can type directly into the document, making it a great activity for distance learning or sub plans!
