Description
From the days of early acoustic recording where music traveled through a cone to be etched into wax to the digital devices in use today, audio technology has grown from an impossible dream to devices that fit countless songs in our pockets. This resource will take you and your middle school or high school students through history to learn about the early days of audio technology, Thomas Edison's cylinder phonograph, Victrolas, early microphone technology, magnetic tape recording, Compact Discs, and digital devices. Video links are included to allow students to hear authentic examples of several of these devices as well.
The slide show is in .pdf format and includes 75 slides that introduce bullet points one at a time to allow time for discussion and keep students focused. The accompanying worksheet is 20 questions long, and can be done on paper or assigned using TpT's Easel platform to fill out online.
