How do history professionals investigate the past and solve some of history's mysteries?
Use the History Mysteries MEGA Resource Bundle to answer this question and engage your students in their Year 7 study of investigating the past.

This resource is delivered as a PDF in A4 size.
So, what's included?
✓ Dozens of ideas to introduce the unit, dig a little deeper and get creative with it!
✓ Engaging 950-word article entitled Frozen: The World's Oldest Murder Mystery about the discovery of the remains of Otzi the Iceman, targeted at 11 to 14 year old readers.
✓ Pre- & Post-Reading Quiz for analysing prior knowledge and reading comprehension (answers included).
✓ Investigating the Past Glossary template includes several terms that students will encounter during their study, and space to add more as new words or phrases are come across.
✓ History Professionals worksheet familiarises students with the variety of jobs held by history professionals, and their roles.
✓ History at Work: Image Analysis activity asks students to regard several photos of history professionals at work and determine information about their job.
✓ Source Analysis activity introduces students to the types of questions history professionals would ask when presented with a mystery object or source. This activity comprises teacher instructions, source image and student worksheet.
✓ The Inquiry Process matching activity introduces students to the steps required in an historical enquiry.
✓ Tollund Man Inquiry sums up student learning by asking them to put the skills they have learnt to the test and solve the mystery of the Tollund Man: a body preserved in a bog for many thousands of years. This activity comprises teacher instructions, background information and images, KW chart, student planning and evaluation worksheet.
