What educators are saying

This was a great end-of-unit assignment for Greece. Students were engaged and working through the entire activity.
This was a great writing prompt for my students since we have wrapped up our learning over the Greek Gods and have covered autobiographies in ELA! They challenged themselves to transform their research question responses into first person.

Description

EDITABLE! NO PREP! You can print this project and have students start it today!
This fun project has students learn about one of the Greek gods or goddesses, then write an autobiography as that god or goddess. Then they create a life size picture of their god or goddess. A project planning page/research guide for students is included along with the project overview and instructions. Helpful websites for research are also listed on the research guide. My students have enjoyed this project year after year, and get really into the persona they take on. I've even had students dress up as their god or goddess when they presented!

*Another great option is to incorporate this into language arts and use it as an opportunity to work on how to write an autobiography!

At the bottom of the project overview page I include and student and parent contract so that there is no excuse about due dates and expectations! The file is provided as a pdf and as an editable word document so you can adjust it to fit your classroom needs. Projects can be done individually, with a partner, or in a group.

Break up the book work and explore the benefits of project based learning! This project can easily be incorporated into your classroom and give students an alternative way to show you what they know! Great for multiple intelligences!
