Historical Genre Timeline Tracker--Reading Challenges

If you're looking for different ways to encourage students to expand beyond the typical genres, you've found it.

I've created a reading log or challenge log to get students to step into the historical fiction genre. Personally, this genre has been difficult for me to drum up excitement. So I created this challenge. Students must read a book from each of the different historical periods and then color in the frame. The best part is you, the educator, will pick the historical periods to match the books in your collection.

I also have a historical fiction challenge for all the military fans. Students must read a book about each military war or timeframe and then color in the dog tags.

This is a fun and unique way to encourage reluctant historical fiction readers!!
