Historical Fiction Reading Unit Smartboard

This product is a series of ten reading minilessons which focus on historical fiction. The Smartboard presentation follows the Reader's Workshop model and each lesson includes a connection, a teaching point, a teaching component, active engagement, and link (as well as other supplemental activities and slides). The lessons included in this product are:

5) Thinking as Someone Else
6) Scrutinizing, Not Skipping, Descriptions
7) Seeing the Big Ideas in Small Details
8) Widening the Horizons of Our Thinking
9) Strengthening Our Empathy for Quiet Characters
10) Seeing Power in its Many Forms

All minilessons follow the workshop model and include a cover page, a connection to the lesson from the day before, a teaching point, a teaching component, an active engagement activity, and a link to students' everyday lives.
