Description
A Hip Hop Resource Bundle comprised of a detailed slideshow of the history of hip hop, a quiz, and a rap unit with directions on composing your own rap song. Can be used with 4th Grade Students and beyond!
History of Hip Hop: students learn about the origins of the Hip Hop genre, the influential artists, the 4 main elements, and how it has evolved to present-day. There are appropriate Youtube clips for each element to provide more engagement. Students are encouraged to take notes throughout, have a class discussion, and then complete a 10-question quiz.
Rap Music Composition Unit: students learn about the poetic techniques used in rap music, fill out a listening log, and learn how to write their own song. They have the opportunity to write their own lyrics, find or create a hip hop track for the background music, and perform their compositions for the class. An assessment rubric is attached for teachers to grade.
NOTE: This is a bundle of pre-existing products. They can be used online or in person as I have included embedded slideshow links, fillable PDFs, and printable PDFs. Due to copyright reasons, I do not provide editable Google Slides.
