Description
As I was on the hunt for resources to teach my students about hibernation, I realized that there aren't very many out there that include REAL pictures of the topic. To help my students reach the rigorous Common Core State Standards, I want to provide them with non-fiction resources that will connect them to the world around them. This is why I created this Hibernation Non-Fiction pack loaded with REAL pictures of hibernating animals and true information about them.
Here's what's included in this hibernation pack:
- Vocabulary cards (includes a word card, a definition card, and a picture card for 8 words)
- Large posters featuring real pictures of hibernation (included are hibernation, bear, hedgehog, bat, squirrel, biologist, body temperature)
- Informational texts about hibernation (these are great to read to your students to kick off your hibernation unit, to provide students as an extension, or as non-fiction research pieces when studying winter topics)
- Napping in Winter close read (includes one close read text and five close read questioning graphic organizers)
- Squirrels Mini-Close Read (includes one mini close read text PERFECT for young readers and ELLs who are just beginning to get the feel for looking closely at a text, and one questioning page)
- Photographs (pictures of hibernation animals)
- Extras (hibernation writing page, exit ticket)
