Helping my High Schooler Learn Spanish Distance Learning Guide to Netflix Shows
- Google Slides™
Description
I plan to send this television show resource guide home to parents for ideas to support language learning over Spring Break. We will preview the shows at school, stopping to discuss each and then give parents and students a chance to preview and select a show to "hook" them at home over break. This is also a nice resource to have on hand for parent teacher conferences since parents are always asking what they can do to support their kids' language learning at home.
Netflix is a great resource for language learners. There’s so much good stuff there with audio and subtitles to spark inspiration and scaffold learning. Here is a Google Slides or Pdf Download of 5 shows that I suggest for students. These are the kinds of shows you watch and your language brain activates because there is intrinsic interest. I have included 5 trailers for more information and to gauge level of interest and appropriateness.

These resources are fantastic and the resources from this seller have helped me tremendously to get through the First Quarter of 100% Distance Learning successfully. They are engaging for the students and provide me with the data and feedback that I need as well. I cannot say enough positive about them and I hope they continue to create more of the same types of activities. Thanks so much for sharing your time & talents! Happy Fall ! ¡ Felíz Otoño !

This was exactly what I was hoping to find. My students are 100% virtual and I wanted to find a resource (to save me time) that helped them make a digital ofrenda in place of the normal shoebox ofrendas we make. I liked the twist of "decorating" each of the 7 levels which I don't usually cover. The meaning of each level is also explained. Simple yet I think this will help my students enjoy learning about the traditions as well as learn about their chosen person.
