Pg. 3-4 Vocabulary in Context – copy back to back, fold on the solid lines, cut on the dotted lines, write a sentence and draw a picture for each vocabulary word
Pg. 5-6 Spelling Braille! - use the Braille Alphabet on Pg. A to write your spelling words on Pg. B – this might be a little challenging for some students – you can have them work with partners – this page will give them an understanding on how hard it could be to learn how to use Braille
Pg. Pg. 7-8 Spelling Hunt! -hunt for words just like Helen Keller – decide which ones are spelled correctly then cut them out and glue them into the book on page A
Pg. 9 Illustration of completed projects.
Pg. 10 My Favorite Proper Nouns… In My Opinion! – a foldable book that lets you practice writing proper nouns and gives you an understanding of opinions at the same time
Pg. 11-12 Suffix Sally! – copy side A and B back to back, fold on the solid line, cut on the dotted lines, create new words by adding the suffix –ly – pick to new words and use them in a sentence
Pg. 13 Idea Support Map – use this map to write a main idea with supportive details from the reading selection

Pg. 18-23 The Prettiest View I’ve Ever Seen – Our sight is precious and we need to stop and appreciate beautiful things that are in this world – What is the prettiest view you have ever seen? – copy off the window onto brown construction paper, draw and color your “view” on a white piece of paper, glue the window over it, write about what you saw and attach it with the window to a large piece of construction paper, choose the writing paper with your color eyes or use the black and white eyes to color on your own
Pg. 24 Tic Tac Read – a fun way to practice your High-Frequency Words with a partner
Pg. 25-31 Water! - such an important part of the Helen Keller story – every player gets a hand, put the water cards face down, take turns reading them and placing them on your hand game board, if you read the word incorrectly you have to replace the card in the pile, if you choose a cow, doll, or cake card it slows you down by making you lose your turn, whoever has the most cards at the end of the game – wins!
