Description
Here is a rubric and instructions for an activity I do in my classes each year. This can work in ANY CLASS for ANY SUBJECT matter!!!
I always find myself teaching a section that is review for my students or is really easy for them and we speed right through it. So I decided to create this rubric as a project to make my students be the teachers!
They can have 2-3 days to learn the content, come up with a lesson plan and make a handout for the class. I ask them to use a half sheet and I make copies. This will be used to notes for the other students. Depending on the content, I ask them to make a small quiz for the end of their lesson as well.
My grading unit for the presentation is also included along with a rubric for the students to see how they will be graded. I let them use a computer, the whiteboard or any other resource for notes. Students are very well behaved for this activity and they like learning from their peers.
THe rubric provided is set for a 5 day class teaching activity but can be modified to fit your time schedule and amount of teaching topics that need to be covered. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!! :) If done more than once a year, the students presentations get better and better! :) Enjoy watching the students teach!!
