Supporting Indigenous Resources for Inclusive Learning in the Classroom
This learning resource, explores Haudenosaunee culture including traditional beliefs with Sky Woman, the Creation story, and the Big Bear, to tradional practices such as Lacrosse the Medicine Game, agricultural concepts with the Three Sisters, and tradional treaty agreements with Wampum. Recognition and gratitude is explored and practiced with the Thanksgiving Address.
These units are supported with learning links to authentic resources and video links, and can also support the Strong Nations Strong Stories, Kanyen'keha:ka Series written by Michelle Corneau. (You can purchase the Strong Readers Kanyen'keha:ka Series book set, at Strong Nations online bookstore.)
These units are differentiated to support all learning levels and is geared for grades 2-6.
This bundle is perfect for: class discussions, whole class activities, individual learning or small group learning stations.
Comprehension activities include: Transformation, Visualization, Question, Connection, Summary, Problem/Solution, Informational Comprehension, Sorting, Critical Thinking Questions, Story Information for Labelling Diagrams, True and False Cut and Paste, Sequential Organization and "Take Home Mini-book extensions."
