What educators are saying

This was the addition to my Harry Potter Day that I was looking for. It covered standards we needed review on for state testing and my kids enjoyed the graphics and activities included. Thank you for making this.
Great resource. My kids were motivated by the HP images and I loved being able to keep them engaged in learning at the end of the year!

Description

This unit contains both a printable packet version AND individual JPEG files for each document so that you can easily upload to Google Classroom. Since they are in JPEG format, students should be able to write on the documents in Google Classroom.

Our BRAND NEW SECOND GRADE HARRY POTTER PACKET can be found HERE!

Check out our Harry Potter Literacy NO PREP packet here!!

Looking for more fun? Check out our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory math packet here!

And lastly, check out our Harry Potter fourth grade math packet here!

This packet covers almost every 3rd grade Common Core math standard! It is separated by book chapter and each activity aligns with what is happening in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I used it with my class while we read the book, but it is versatile enough that you could use it without the book as well.

These activities require higher order thinking and keep your students involved and interested in the material. This packet would also be great for higher level 2nd grade students or for RTI with 4th grade students.

Every page includes an "I Can" statement and has the common core standard listed at the bottom of the page to make it super easy to find the standards you need for your lessons or review.

Standards

Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l). Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
Generate measurement data by measuring lengths using rulers marked with halves and fourths of an inch. Show the data by making a line plot, where the horizontal scale is marked off in appropriate units-whole numbers, halves, or quarters.
Measure areas by counting unit squares (square cm, square m, square in, square ft, and improvised units).
