Description

One of my favorite fairy tales deserves a package of activities!

Activities include a Readers Theater script with parts for readers of all levels. Narrators 1 and 2, Hansel and Gretel: Advanced; Witch: Basic; Father and Bunny: Below Basic

A vocabulary sheet is included. It tells the definitions of 10 words in the script. The worksheet could be used to frontload vocabulary before students read the script, or later in the week as an assessment or group activity.

A list of 6 journal prompts related to the story is included.

Also included are 10 word problems about Hansel and Gretel. The word problems require students to add, subtract, multiply, and tell time. Perfect for content integration!

Answer keys for all activities are included.

**The Readers Theater script is also available for purchase by itself. Please look for it in the store!**

Use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve one- and two-step word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
Interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 × 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 × 7.
Compare and contrast two or more versions of the same story (e.g., Cinderella stories) by different authors or from different cultures.
By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories and poetry, in the grades 2–3 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range.
Compare and contrast the themes, settings, and plots of stories written by the same author about the same or similar characters (e.g., in books from a series).
