The practice sheets in these mini books follow the same letter order as the HWT suggested order of learning. It is important that each letter be formed with the correct letter formation and are done in the same stroke order as described and taught by the handwriting curriculum. These handwriting practice mini books are ideal for all types of students. They are also a great alternative for older students (or for occupational therapy use) who struggle to form their letters, but do not wish to have distracting/childish illustrations.

These mini books can be printed over and over again so the student gains muscle memory when practicing their capital letters. There are many other handwriting printables out there, but these mini books clearly separate the capital letters from the lower case letters. Most other handwriting practice sheets include the accompanied lower case letter and vice versa. For optimum success, the handwriting curriculum suggests starting with capital letters alone before moving on to the lower case letters.

It is important for new writers to practice everyday for a short, focused time. Daily focused practice is an important long term component of building good handwriting skills. Many times children are taught each letter once with a page of practice and then it is assumed that they know how to write properly. Continued daily practice and attention to letter formation is required to develop good handwriting. These practice books are a great way to build your student's handwriting skills and confidence.

✏️ What about LEFT HANDED children? ✏️

As a lefty myself, I can definitely understand the struggle. The good news is, these books are great for both left and right handed children. If you are preparing this book for a lefty, I suggest binding the book at the TOP - so it is flip book style. When you give a left handed student writing books that are bound on the traditional left side, it is extremely awkward and difficult for them to write. For handwriting assignments, always give your left handed students either loose paper or books/paper that are bound at the top.

⭐️⭐️ I SEE HUNDREDS OF HANDWRITING PRODUCTS ON TPT - WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE THIS ONE? ⭐️⭐️

Most of the products sold on TpT are created with programs such as PowerPoint® or Canva. These are great for making slide shows or quick ready to use graphics, but they are not built to create professional quality worksheets. ALL of my products are designed on Adobe InDesign - the industry standard software for layout and typesetting. It is the same software used to create worksheets, textbooks, and magazines that you would find in a bookstore. By using this program, I am able to fine tune every detail in my worksheets to ensure each letter, line, and image is exactly where it should be. This means that your students will have greater success in forming their letter strokes and formations. The lines on the paper are perfectly formatted to align with every letter. And with my extensive typesetting background, I ensured each letter is properly kerned (spaced). All of these are important factors in ensuring success for new and struggling writers. The fonts used on many other TpT handwriting products are not designed for handwriting instruction. The handwriting fonts I use in all of my practice sheets were custom designed by me - specifically to use for handwriting practice.

As a former Disney graphic designer (and typography enthusiast), I took extra care to ensure the authenticity of the letter strokes and formation. My worksheets fill in the gaps and provide ample practice for your students to grasp the muscle memory needed for proper handwriting instruction.
