Description

This is an introductory unit to Critical Theory beginning with the Psychoanalytic Lens which is an approach to reading literature using Freudian psychological analysis as a means of better understanding characters and their relationships. This analysis often draws heavily on the idea that unconscious fears and desires are integral to human behavior. We will use psychoanalysis in order to answer Hamlet’s dramatic question: Why does Hamlet hesitate in seeking revenge for his father by killing his uncle?
