Halloween Witch Counting and Cardinality Interactive Story Book and Worksheet

This book is called Miss Gertrude Tate and the Spell for Eight. Read this story to your children in a small group setting. As you read each page, ask them to gather the correct number of objects that Miss Tate needs and put it in a plastic witches cauldron. (Items are typical math manipulatives or other items found in the classroom.) By correctly putting the objects inside, you can read the next page. By the end of the story, they should be able to fill out the entire recipe card that accompanies the story. The worksheet is meant to be filled out while the story is being read by the teacher. Bonus points if the teacher wears a witch hat!
