Description

Biology students often struggle with the differences between an organism's habitat and its niche. In this printable, editable, and digital practice worksheet, students will first determine the habitat of a variety of living organisms, then match an organism to its niche. Second, students will observe included photographs to determine the habitat/niche of each. This resource provides a thoughtful homework or classwork assignment during your units on ecology to ensure that your students have a solid understanding of these concepts.

Choose to use the traditional printable version, or the paperless, digital Google Apps version. Both Google Slides and Google Forms versions are included.

This resource includes:

  • Editable and Printable Student Handouts
  • Paperless Digital Version for use in Google Drive, Google Classroom, and/or Microsoft OneDrive
  • Google Slides Version (not editable)
  • Google Forms Version (editable)
  • Teacher Guide and Answer Key
  • Teacher Guide to Google Apps

What will the students be doing?

  • There are 36 questions in this practice problem worksheet. In the first section, students will match a living organism to its habitat.
  • In the second section, students will match the organism to its niche.
  • Based on their answers to the first two sections, students will define the terms "habitat" and "niche".
  • In the final section, students will look at pictures of various organisms and determine both their habitat and their niche.
