***HIGH SCHOOL & YOUNG ADULT FUNCTIONAL LANGUAGE SCREEN - LIFE SKILLS**

New product that has been being developed for a few years based on a need I've noticed with middle & high school students who are in higher level life skills classes who need help in processing the language involved in:

• maintaining a personal schedule
• telling time
• interpreting a procedure
• replying appropriately during social situations
• problem identification
• solving a problem

For example, students often have trouble telling time not because they don't know the numbers, but because they don't understand the linguistic terms involved in telling time. The difficulty of questions also impacts comprehension, like, "What time is it?' versus, "What time will it be one hour from now?" or, "What time was it fifteen minutes ago?" Questions in each section range from easiest to hardest so you know which level to being targeting. Most often used for benchmark testing when developing a new IEP so suggested goal bank as related to questions has been included. However, this tool can also be used to screen older students to determine if additional in depth assessment is needed so a screening report template has also been included. Excellent resource for those who will participate in the workforce one day as all target functional language skills as related to activities of daily living.
