What educators are saying

This was such a time saver for my third graders below grade level! It made planning their guided lesson plans much easier!
Thank you. As a third grade teacher finding materials for my below level readers is time consuming. This product was a time saver and the students felt successful that they could work at their level.

Description

Included in this package are analogy charts to be used when conducting an “Early Readers” level Guided Reading lesson. Jan Richardson suggests beginning using analogy charts with the silent e rule when readers are at the level G.

You will find analogy charts of varying difficulty levels in this product. Level 1 contains words that rhyme so it is simple for your students to sort the long vs. short vowel sounds and practice adding a silent e when there is a long vowel sound. Level 2 is more challenging because the words you dictate will not rhyme. However, all words contain the same vowel. In the level 3 analogy charts, you will dictate words with multiple short and long vowel sounds. The words selected in all levels also target skills that should have been previously practiced such as consonant blends and digraphs.

Note: This product is not a guide for how to conduct a Jan Richardson lesson. It is a resource to help you in the process so that you have developmentally appropriate word work already prepared and ready for your lessons. Good luck to you and your students!
