This engaging activity puts a fun spin on learning the meanings of Latin and Greek roots! Better yet, it provides a visual connection to the meaning of word "roots"! It also makes a creative bulletin board or school hallway display!

HERE'S WHAT YOU GET:

  • FIVE WORKSHEETS- Students read each sentence and circle the word that contains a Greek or Latin root. On the line that follows, they write the root, the root's meaning, and the meaning of the circled word. These worksheets feature 12 different roots and 60 sentences in all! (If you have a limited amount of time, you do not have to complete all of the worksheets- you can complete two worksheets with 25 sentences, as well.)
  • Answer keys for all five worksheets
  • CRAFTIVITY IMAGES- These include the flowers, pots, and root images. They write the circled words from the worksheet on the flower petals and they write the meaning of the root on the root image.
  • Student-friendly instructions (with photos!!) that detail how to assemble the craftivity.
  • Additional notes for the teacher with explanations on materials that need to be gathered and additional instructions.
