What educators are saying

I love this resource! I have been using it for two years and it is a wonderful review tool after the Scholastic workbook. I came back hoping there was one to go with the Prefixes and Suffixes workbook as well!

Description

This is a no-prep bundle of quizzes, final test, and master list that goes along with the Scholastic Vocabulary Packets Greek & Latin Roots ©Liane B. Onish, which is available for purchase here. I did not create that resource, but can highly recommend it for fifth and sixth graders. The original resource does not contain quizzes or tests, and that is what I have created in this bundle.

  • The quizzes are separated by unit with a simple matching system that proves whether students know the material, and is quick and easy for the teacher to assess.
  • A note on pacing: In my fifth grade classroom, I teach a set of five roots on Friday and they are quizzed the following Friday.
  • The quizzes are cumulative; students are responsible for the five Unit 1 roots on the first quiz, then Unit 1 and Unit 2 on the second quiz, etc. until the cumulative final, which includes all 40 roots. The assessments start gently, but increase in difficulty each week.
  • A master list with all the roots and their definitions is included.

Everything is ready to print and go, and an answer key is included for each quiz and the final test. All files are saved in PDF to secure the font and clip art.

Enjoy!
