Description

1st Grade Math Unit 12: Graphing and Data is the twelfth unit of my first grade math boom card series. There are twelve units in all and each unit is packed with nine math games that were made to engage young learners. In this unit, students will look at picture graphs, bar graphs, tally charts, and pie charts and interpret data with up to four categories. Students will analyze data and answer questions about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another.

This unit was made with first grade in mind, but you can adapt it to your lessons to review the skills with second graders and to challenge high level kindergarteners.

Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories.

  4. Identify the components of a graph. Students will drag and drop the labels to complete the graph.
  5. Use the bar graphs and interpret data with four categories and answer questions.
  6. Practice counting tally marks up to 60.
  7. Use the tally charts and interpret data with three categories and answer questions.
  8. Use the bar graphs and interpret data with four categories and answer questions.
  9. Use the pie charts to interpret data and answer questions.
