Description

Graphing Polynomial Functions Scavenger Hunt

This walk around activity will help students practice identifying the key characteristics of polynomial functions and connecting those characteristics to graphs. Students begin the activity by choosing any one of the graphs posted around the classroom, and the equation of that graph will lead them to the next station.

This scavenger hunt requires that students be able to identify whether a polynomial function has an even or odd degree, and positive or negative leading coefficient, the number of turning points and real zeroes, the least possible degree, and the y-intercept of a polynomial function.

This download includes an 8 station scavenger hunt (provided in color and grayscale), instructions, 2 versions of student answer sheets, and an answer key.
