Graphing Candy Solid 3D Shapes! Yummy!

Goals: To identify and describe solid 3D shapes.
Graph the solid candy shapes.
Count, compare, record, and evaluate learned information.

Start this fun hands-on learning activity by introducing the four solid shapes, using the 4 song cards and 4 puzzle sheets.

To do the activity, you will need to prepare baggies filled with solid shapes candies, one for each child. There must be the same total number of solids in each bag, but the combinations will be different. Examples of candy solids: Cubes-© Kraft Caramels, Spheres-© Whoopers Malt Balls, Cones-© Hershey Kisses, and Cylinders-© Tootsie Rolls.

The students will use the candy graph and tally worksheets to record their information. Included is an evaluation worksheet to assess the students, with answer key provided.

This activity may take one day, or used over a period of several days. It can be used with the whole class, small groups, or one-on-one.
