What educators are saying

I did a long-term substituting job in a 5th-grade English class after retiring as a high school math teacher. I could not have made it without resources like this.

Description

Use these grammar practice worksheets the last weeks of school or prior to benchmark testing as a review of all of the grammar and mechanics covered throughout the year. After teaching and practicing the basic parts of speech, students must assimilate all of the information to correctly complete the review pages.

Each worksheet has 10 - 15 sentences with one underlined word. The students identify how the underlined word is used in the sentence (subject, verb, adjective, preposition, etc.). The answer choice options are set up like a multiple choice test making the worksheets easy to grade.

7 out of the 8 worksheets have additional questions at the bottom of the page that review other grammar and mechanics skills like using pronouns, the words GOOD and WELL, or using apostrophe S (possessives).

The worksheets also work well as an assessment at the beginning of the year to gauge a student’s grammar knowledge! Or, they make a great assignment for your emergency sub plans.

Resource Includes:

CCSS L.1 for 4th, 5th, 6th grades

8 easy-grade worksheets with answer keys
