Grammar Metaphors - an interactive review on the 9 parts of speech

Give your students a interactive approach to learning the parts of speech! This activity is part of the larger SHARP Portfolio bundle. Student learn 9 parts of speech and connect them to a relevant metaphor (think smart phones, emoji's, etc...)

This activity can stand alone, but it is best used as part of the SHARP portfolio - a year long interactive notebook for your ELA classroom. The SHARP portfolio shows off your students growth in literacy and as a thinker.

This activity can be done as a unit study, or can be stretched out in little pieces during the whole year. In using it with the SHARP portfolio, I'm able to focus on one part of speech for an entire month - digging into its meaning and seeing it show up in all of our texts for that month.
